WELCOME
Hello and thank you for visiting! I hope you enjoy looking around and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to commission or buy an art piece.
As you will see, portraits are my main subject and I usually paint in oil or use pencil or charcoal for my drawings. I also love experimenting, learning new techniques and trying new media (fluid acrylics are my latest love) and also more ancient methods such as silverpoint (which is literally drawing with silver).
During the summer I run away to the circus and get involved in carnival work. For the last six years I've been working with 'Same Sky', a group of local artists, local schools and New Life Church in Emsworth for the NEWS carnival parade which marks the beginning of the Chichester Festivities (two weeks of cultural events from the end of June to mid July).
I also teach art in small classes in my studio, youth events, schools and for the West Sussex Enrichment programme. My studio classes run for six weeks during the Spring and Autumn terms - do contact me if you are interested in coming along.
PORTRAITS
if you are unable to sit for a portrait I can also work from photographs. This is certainly a better approach for a portrait of a child as they quickly become bored!
I find photographs taken by a parent or friend are often the most natural but we can also arrange to take photos if you would prefer. There is more information on the 'Commissioning' page.
